Project info
With the increasing demand for power for the fastest growing community in BC, the city of Surrey knew that a new electrical substation was in order to help get power to homes and businesses in a safe and reliable way.
Our scope was to install a new, open-air substation, which included two transformers, substation protection and control equipment, and two new distribution feeder sections. Our team installed a 230-25-25kV transformer, four 230kV circuit breakers and 16 230kV breaker disconnect switches, two 230kV line switches and two 230kV line terminations, two 230kV motor operated transformer disconnect switches, four motorized 25kV disconnect switches, four 25kV GIS feeder sections with equipment for seven feeders per section, and associated 25kV equipment in two separate buildings.
Despite various project delays, we collaborated and had open communication with the client and our project team to reassign resources as needed to meet the changing schedule.
