Project info
The goal of the GCT Deltaport Terminal Road and Rail Improvement Project (DTRRIP) was to improve the operational efficiency of rail operations and increase container capacity through improvements to existing infrastructure. The Intermodal Yard Reconfiguration project consisted of rail track changes and additional container handling equipment within the existing GCT Deltaport footprint.
For this project, our team installed new 15kV switchgear and cabling, low voltage distribution, communications systems, and controls. We were also responsible for the expansion of a 69kV substation yard to support the addition of new RMG cranes, the reconfiguration of a rail yard, and the addition of a new rail maintenance building. To minimize disruption to operations we worked collaboratively with the owner to determine an optimized schedule for the project.
