Community is important to us and recently, the Victoria office supported two great organizations in their time of need.

Here’s what our Security Technician Richard Yeates recounts:

The Clements Centre and Sundrops Centre in Duncan offer support services for persons and children with developmental disabilities. The Clements Center focuses on community living and inclusion for adults living within the Cowichan Valley. Sundrops provides referral-based services dedicated to assisting childhood development for the younger generation. Having a son with Down Syndrome, the combined efforts of these support services means a great deal to my family.

We learned that the Centres (which share a common building) had unfortunately been the victims of a break-in. They needed a CCTV system to improve their existing security measures as a response to the incident.

After hearing news of the incident, our Victoria managers decided to approach the centre with an offer to assist. The curator warmly accepted our offer.

We provided the Centres with a professionally installed IP CCTV system, complete with NVR and 4 strategically located IP cameras. The system encompasses remote connection capabilities and network control that users can manage through their existing PC’s. The labour was donated by the technicians (on a weekend to avoid conflict with the Centres’ patrons), and Houle donated permits and extraneous supplies.

Our Houlegan Heros are at it again completing four community charity projects in a row!

The Victoria Office supported The Mustard Seed Street Church project, the Threshold Housing Society project, the Citizens’ Counselling Centre project, and the Rainbow Kitchen/Esquimalt United Church project.

Thank you all for giving back to our wonderful community!

We’re thrilled to announce the success of this year’s Jeans Day event! As a proud supporter of the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation, we were excited to see our employees and Facebook followers come together to make a difference. Our employees generously donated a total of $7,715, and we raised $969 through our social media campaign. We were able to match each dollar donated by employees and contribute an additional $1 per like and share on Facebook. In total, we raised an impressive $16,500 for the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. Thank you everyone for your unwavering support of this meaningful initiative.
