Project info
Suncor-owned Petro Canada built a network of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations from Nova Scotia to British Columbia called “Canada’s Electric Highway.” Each charging station is located 200 km-250 km apart, and in British Columbia, Houle was the installation partner of choice for their first fast-charge EV station in Nanaimo, BC.
Our scope of work to install the charging station included: connecting a dedicated BC. Hydro 600-ampere, 600-volt, three-phase service to the two electric vehicle chargers, supplying the underground electrical equipment, 920V DC wiring and fibre-optic connections, lighting, emergency shutdown systems, intercom, cameras and wiring for additional chargers.
A couple of months later, we completed our second Petro-Canada EV station at Patricia Bay Highway in Victoria, BC.
